Erica Zimmerman, DPT, ATC, CSCS, started her academic career at SUNY Stony Brook University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002. While at Stony Brook, Erica worked as an intern for the Sports Medicine Department treating Division I collegiate athletes from more then 24 varsity teams, also completing her certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 2002.
Following this, she attended New York University and obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2005, as well as certification to practice as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Since her graduation from NYU, Erica has been working full-time as a Physical Therapist in the private practice setting in New York City, specializing in sports/orthopedic injuries, dysfunctions, and surgical cases.
In addition to Cynergy, Erica also works part-time as an Athletic Trainer for the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) Men’s Rugby team, the Long Island Silver Bullets Girls AAU Basketball Association, and the Nightingale-Bamford all girls private school located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Most recently, Erica has begun to take continuing education courses offered through the elite Osteopathic Medicine Program of Michigan State University in order to pursue her next professional goal of advancing her manual therapy skills.
Through her experience, Erica has developed a specialty in taping techniques and bracing which when applied with her knowledge of proper body mechanics can improve or enhance performance. As a health professional, she aspires to treat each patient with the individual attention they deserve, in order to return them to their most optimal level of function and assist the achievement of their maximum potential.
